BULL 18-X Mini Excavator

I've run this machine on three commercial landscaping contracts since buying in July. Six months, roughly 400 hours, zero mechanical issues. The Kubota D902 starts on the first crank every morning even in January cold. I've run Bobcat and Takeuchi machines — this engine is their equal. Parker hydraulics are genuinely smooth; my operator stopped complaining about wrist fatigue after the first week. At $15,900 with everything included, I don't understand what the competition is charging $28K for.

Had a pool excavation job where I needed to squeeze through a 44-inch gate on both sides of the house. Narrowed the tracks in the driveway, drove through, widened up in the backyard. My old machine would've meant a crane lift over the fence. The zero tail swing let me dig within 8 inches of the block wall without touching it. Customer was thrilled, I saved half a day. This machine pays for itself in situations your old machine simply can't handle.

I spent two weeks demoing a competitor's 1.8-ton machine before buying the BULL. The Parker hydraulics on this machine are in a different league — pilot controls are light, responsive, and consistent throughout the full range. No spongy mid-travel feel. Buckets fill clean and the thumb is precise enough for stone work. Docking one star only because the cab glass could be thicker — vibration resonance on hard digs is noticeable. Doesn't affect performance, just comfort.

Three months in, my hydraulic thumb started acting sluggish on cold mornings. Called the service line at 7am expecting voicemail. A technician picked up, walked me through a bleeding procedure on the phone in 15 minutes. Fixed. That's what lifetime technical support actually looks like. Machine has been flawless since. The 36-month warranty isn't marketing — there are real engineers behind it.

I work almost exclusively in tight Denver backyards and alleyways. Zero tail swing is the single feature that makes this machine work for my business — I can spin 360° against a fence line without touching it. The rubber tracks don't tear up lawns (3-5 PSI is genuinely lawn-safe), and the variable width means I can access 90% of residential properties without a crane. I've turned down zero jobs since buying this machine.
